Tuesday, November 14: Love in the Time of Fentanyl (Unrated)
A group of misfits, artists, and drug users operates a renegade safe injection site in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Love in the Time of Fentanyl is an intimate portrait of a community fighting to save lives and keep hope alive in a neighborhood ravaged by the overdose crisis.
Viewing note: We’ve selected this film in advance of National Addictions Awareness Week (November 19-25), which highlights solutions to help address the harms related to alcohol and other drugs. It provides an opportunity for people in Canada to learn more about the causes and prevention of harms, talk about treatment and recovery, and advance solutions for change. The discussion following this film will be facilitated by representatives from Peterborough Drug Strategy.
