We're partnering with Age-friendly Peterborough in this series for older adults, focusing on learning ways to stay safe, connected, and active in our community. Each month's session will feature a presentation, discussion, and time for socializing over refreshments.
September: Canadian Dental program for seniors
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) will help ease financial barriers to accessing oral health care for eligible Canadian residents, starting with those over the age of 65. Service Canada will present a program overview including eligibility requirements and how to apply.
October: Grief
Grief can take many forms: the loss of a spouse, parent, child, pet, job, friendship, or the way we used to do something. It can even be the thought or fear of losing someone or something in the future. Any kind of change may feel like a loss and requires time to grieve. Registered Psychotherapist, Lorie Blundon, will lead a discussion about what grief looks like, the stages of grief and what you can do as you experience it.
