Celebrate Peterborough’s arts community by embracing creativity at the Library before heading out to the downtown art crawl.

First Friday Peterborough is a self-guided tour of downtown galleries, studios, shops, and cafés that takes place on the first Friday of every month, except January, between the hours of 6:00 and 10:00 pm. 

March activity: Printmaking

Come play with pattern as we create colourful prints using a variety of techniques and materials, including stamps, styrofoam, bubble wrap, blocks and more!

Fixers may also offer suggestions and resources to help you with your small appliance repairs. Learn basic skills while giving new life to your items, saving you money, and keeping well-loved possessions out of the landfill.

Spend some dedicated time learning Basic Computer Skills to help you with daily tasks and internet use. In these sessions, you will learn to get more comfortable with a Windows-based computer and explore internet browsing and email.

This course is ideal for volunteers or older adult learners and those needing basic computer skills for employment. Registrants should commit to attending most of this 8-week series.

This course will provide you with basic skills essential to the modern workplace including:

This course is ideal for those entering or re-entering the workforce. Registrants should commit to attending most of this series.

Our community partner, Fleming College - Skills on Demand, offers courses in a variety of subjects including math, computers, communications, and sciences, and can help you move forward with goals such as entry into post-secondary, employment, apprenticeship, or refreshing and gaining the essential skills required for today’s in-demand careers.

Wildlife Coexistence Workshops Registration Required

We're partnering with the Kawartha Wildlife Centre and Bird Friendly Peterborough (BFP) to educate, create, and learn about animals and the ways we can live better with nature. After completing all three modules, each registrant will be certified with a Wildlife Coexistence Certificate.

Module 1: Being Bird Friendly

Learn about responsible bird feeding and making your yard safe for birds. You'll enjoy a live bird demonstration with a Certified Falconer. Bring your own bird feeder and we will evaluate it and demonstrate how to clean it and make it bird safe. One lucky participant may win a bird feeder as a door prize!
