Baby & Me - Tuesday Spring Registration Required

Spend some special one-on-one time with your baby and connect with other families. Each week, Laura will share songs, stories, bounces, and rhymes designed to support your child's development and learning. 

Stay and Play: Toys will be available for toddlers while you enjoy time with other caregivers after the program.

Wildlife Coexistence Workshops Registration Required

We're partnering with the Kawartha Wildlife Centre and Bird Friendly Peterborough (BFP) to educate, create, and learn about animals and the ways we can live better with nature. After completing all three modules, each registrant will be certified with a Wildlife Coexistence Certificate.

Module 3: Minimizing Threats: Light, Windows and Cats

In this session, you'll learn about the main threats facing birds: light, windows and cats, and how we can minimize them. You'll enjoy a live bird demonstration with a Certified Falconer and learn about how birds suffer from window strikes. To prevent future window strikes, you'll create your own window decals and have the opportunity to win some free professional decals!

Kawartha Wildlife Centre and the Library are excited to offer this fun, 6-week series which teaches you how to have a positive impact on the earth and care for the wildlife living among us. Learn the importance of butterflies and bumblebees, how to safely move a turtle across the road, and much more! There will be a different hands-on activity each week. 

After completing the 6 weeks, each participant will be certified as a Peterborough Wildlife Hero! If you miss a session, don't worry - you can join us again in July & August

Celebrate Peterborough’s arts community by embracing creativity at the Library before heading out to the downtown art crawl.

First Friday Peterborough is a self-guided tour of downtown galleries, studios, shops, and cafés that takes place on the first Friday of every month, except January, between the hours of 6:00 and 10:00 pm. 

May activity: Paper Maché Secret Sculpture

We are partnering with our neighbours at Artspace on a communal art project layered with secrets. Stop by Artspace to see the work of artist and puppeteer, Brad Brackenridge, and write your deepest, darkest secrets out on paper. Then bring them to the library to be incorporated into the sculpture that will become our Secret Devourer.

Dory is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. With help from her friends, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find her parents. (2016 97 min)
